Diane is a native East Tennessean born and raised on a farm in Powder Springs. She grew up working in her family’s store where she learned respect for others and developed an understanding of business management and later attended several colleges to increase her knowledge in business management and accounting.
Diane feels that God called her into the funeral ministry to assist and protect grieving families during a time that can be the most difficult they may ever have to face. She knows from dealing with loss in her own life that the funeral home experience is very important. She understands that every family is unique and is committed to ensure every family is treated with respect. She believes the stress of losing a loved one alone can be unbearable and a funeral director should aid in minimizing the stress as much as possible.
Diane is a Nationally Certified Funeral Service Practitioner and Tennessee licensed funeral director, embalmer and preneed insurance producer. She received her Mortuary Science Degree from Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro, GA. Diane served her apprenticeship at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville. After completion of her apprenticeship, Diane moved forward in her career in funeral service management as the Facility Funeral Director Manager of Dogwood Cremation of Powell. Prior to coming to us here at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Diane was the Facility Funeral Director Manager at Woodhaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens in Powell. Diane is a current board member of The Greater Knoxville Funeral Service Associates, Inc. During her down time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Jason and their families.

To facilitate this, in June 2009, Jerry and Joan took new partners into the business. We carry on this tradition of service in the Knoxville community.
