Wheeler Mitchell Moulton Jr., age 84, passed away on February 6, 2021. He was born to the late Wheeler Moulton Sr. and Ollie “Wright” Moulton on April 11, 1936 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Jesus became his savior when he was just eight years old. He was ordained as a Deacon at 25 years old and continued in this service for the rest of his life. Wheeler was a member of Central Baptist Church of Fountain City. He was proudly employed by AT&T for 43 years, 6 months and 29 days. He also served in the United States Army for 6 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dixie McCammon Moulton; children Sharon Wright (Kerry) and Barry Moulton; grandchildren, Whitney Collins and Katie Wright; great grandchildren, T.J. and Bristol Lynn Collins; sister, Peggy McKinney and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a Call at Convenience from 12:00-4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Knoxville for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service with military honors. Rev. Kerry Wright and Rev. Jimmy Burkhardt will officiate the service.
