Wanda (Raby) Barnes went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 31, 2022. She was born in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1951 and graduated from Fulton high School in 1969. Wanda worked in the hearing aid business for many years and at Beverly Park Place until her retirement in 2020. She loved her patients and coworkers and spent time getting to know each of them. She spent most of her time with her family and talking to her friends for hours.
She is preceded in death by sister, Debbie Creager; grandparents, Virgil and Cecil Raby; aunt and uncle, Lillian (Shorty) and Johnny Woods; nephews Jason Cantley and Timmy Creager.
Wanda leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Rick Etherton; grandchildren, Nicklaus and Natalie Etherton; sisters, Brenda Loveday and Linda Anderson; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kandy Holt for her kindness and caregiving during Wanda's sickness. They also want to thank Wanda's friends at Beverly Park Place that cared for her in her last days.
Per her wishes, there will be no services. Her hope was that you spend the time with family and friends.
Wanda dearly loved her special cats, Rosie and Bella. If you would like to remember Wanda, make a donation to Young Williams Animal Center or Blount County Animal Shelter.
Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Barnes family and invites you to view and sign the online registry.
