Viva Joanna Stamps

Viva Joanna Stamps, age 90 of Knoxville, TN passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. She was born in Knoxville in 1931 and graduated from Knoxville Central High School in 1949. After high school she received a certificate from Knoxville Business College and went on to being the co-owner and operator of Frames, Ect.

Viva is a long-time member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church. She loved cooking, sewing and other needlecrafts as well as, gardening different vegetables and flowers.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Vance Stamps, Jr; parents, Dennis W. and Frankie McMillan Mynatt; brothers, James W., Ralph E. and Olin R. Mynatt, all of Knoxville, TN.

Viva is survived by sister, Geneva M. Blevins of Lexington, KY; children, Mark (Becky) Stamps of Knoxville, TN, Eric (Jennifer) Stamps of Knoxville, TN, and Jacquelyn (Gary) Burkholder of Fairfax, VA; seven grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of NHC of Holston for their loving care for the previous two and half years.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel. A service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Kent Williams officiating. Family and friends will gather at Lynnhurst cemetery on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 for an 11:00am graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wallace Memorial Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
