Vernon C. Bolden, 83, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021. Vernon “Big Precious” was a retired City of Knoxville Fire Department Captain. He also belonged to Charles McKinney 433, Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree. He was presented Tennessee Colonel by Gov. Ray Blanton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Billie Ann Bolden; devoted, beloved daughter, Melody V. Bolden; proud papaw of grandsons, Stephen “Bo” Crawford, Tyler G. Crawford (Aaliyah); great grandsons, Tyler, Phoenix, and Brady.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and George Bolden; brother, Eddie and in-laws; aunt, Maggie and Bill “Bobo” Croxdale.
A private graveside service will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery, John Sevier Highway with Paul Trumpore officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Vernon was a man of God, character and devoted to family. Rest in peace, Precious. Forever feel good, daddy.
