Sandra Province Douglass, age 81, of Andersonville, went to her heavenly home on May 29, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Sandra, best known as Sandy or Dee, was a graduate of Draughon's Business College and worked at Tennessee Mill and Mine before investing her life in raising and caring for her dear family. She loved the lake and the ocean and the mountains, building her home, music, traveling and was known to always try and give more than anyone could ask without thought of herself. Dee fiercely loved the Lord and her family. Her kind and gentle way of sharing her belief is still an example to all those touched by her life. She will be remembered always as a devoted mother and best friend. Dee was a strong, independent, beautiful, and charitable woman who always tried her best and never lost her spirit of adventure even to the end.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Herman Clifton Province; mother, Kathryn McClain Province, and husband, Nathaniel C. Douglass, Jr. She is survived and will be missed more than all the world by her son, Kenneth N. Douglass; daughter, Janet E. Douglass; daughter, Karen D. Fisher and husband Tom; granddaughter, Kendall N. Weichold and husband Michael; grandson, J. Matthew Fisher and wife Shanna; great-grandson, Jacob M. Weichold; great-grandson, Thomas J. Weichold; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Josh Webb officiating.
