Samuel Dance Sharpe, Jr.

Samuel Dance Sharpe, Jr. was born on September 28, 1966. In the early
morning hours of November 3, 2023, his spirit flew to Heaven.
He was the much-loved son of Sam Sharpe, Sr. and Carolyn Payne
Sharpe, and the much-loved brother of Shawna Marie Sharpe. Like his
father before him, Sammy loved to laugh. He was a gentle soul, always
thoughtful of others. He was a graduate of West High School. When he
was a young child, he went to Sunday school at Fountain City
Presbyterian Church where he made many friends. He was a life-long
fan of all things Star Wars, asking for toys at Christmas like a light saber
and others. This lasted his whole life.
Sammy’s father preceded him in death in 2020. We take comfort in
knowing that he is not sick anymore and that we will see him again.
A graveside service will be held 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 8,
2023 at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored
