Martha Jean (Lundy) Dautel, age 82, was called home to Jesus on May 26, 2023. She was born to Clarence Fielden Lundy (4/20/1907, Independence, VA) and Margaret Ruth Thomas (11/27/1906, Hixon, TN) on January 19, 1941, in Richlands, VA.
Martha lived in Knoxville and worked at TVA where she met her husband, Richard Dautel. Martha loved her family. She was a passionate and active Christian and was a faithful member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church where she often led music and served in various ministries. She played the piano and led singing at Windsor Gardens Assisted Living center on Central Avenue Pike. She led the March for Jesus in Knoxville for many years. Martha also supported her community and organized the neighborhood watch where they lived.
Martha joins her parents and husband in heaven. She is survived by her siblings, Mary (Jerry) Bailey, Tommy (Linda) Lundy, Charlotte (Roy) Powell. She is survived by her 4 children, Pam (Lee) Baker, John Bandy, Tommy (Natalie) Dautel, Paul (Tamara) Dautel and 9 grandchildren, Kayce, Drew, Tyler, Will, Jack, Paige, Kayla, Zane, Katelynn and 5 great grandchildren, Chase, Liam, Audrey, Brooks and Jason.
Martha’s family will receive friends beginning at 11am, and her celebration of life service will start promptly at 12pm on Friday, June 2nd, at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel. The graveside service will begin afterwards at New Gray Cemetery on Western Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Martha's honor to Christus Victor Lutheran Church.
