Lori Alanna Hensley, 63, of Knoxville, TN passed away in hospice on August 15th, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Welch (Broyles), her brother, Jimmy Welch, and her Best Friend, Connie Debuty (Morin).
She leaves behind 2 children: Misty (Mike) Colwell and Matthew Hensley. She will also be missed by her 6 grandchildren: Alanna, Kaitlyn, Zach, Teller, Liam, and Gavin. Lori had a heart of gold and wore a coat of many colors. She grew up in Fountain City and was a graduate of Central High School Class of 77. Lori was a career driven woman, and so she entered the work force shortly after graduating high school. Lori then proudly obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management (Organizational Studies) in 1994 from Tusculum College. Thereafter, she worked at various engineering firms where she was very successful in her career.
Despite her ambitious career demands, Lori was always diligent about prioritizing quality time with loved ones and hobbies. After dutifully raising her two children, Lori's enormous capacity for love expanded even further with the birth of her first grandchild, Alanna, followed by the addition of 5 other amazing grandchildren. Lori was also an avid craftswoman, a voracious reader, and a lover of the outdoors. Other favorite pastimes include girls' nights, class reunions, camping trips, and the beaches of Florida.
There will be a Celebration of life held at the Blue Pavilion at Oak Ridge Marina (beside The Rowing Association), 697 Melton Lake Dr, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 on September 9th, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. We will be lighting and releasing Lanterns (Fairy Lights) in remembrance and celebration of Lori's life.
