Karl Weddle Obituary

The Rev. Dr. Karl Weddle passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 3, 2022.  He was born October 26, 1936 in Houstonville, Kentucky and was a retired Episcopal Priest, most recently serving at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Fountain City. In addition to the priesthood, Dr. Weddle had a lifelong career of service as an educator, administrator, marriage counselor and family therapist. He was a community volunteer, human rights advocate and animal lover. Preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Nila Weddle; his mother, Helen Weddle; and his father, Carl Weddle. Survived by daughters, Becky Blankenbeckler, Casey and Glen Collins, Page Weddle and Jon Helton; grandchildren, Jackson and Bri Blankenbeckler, Blair and Luke Johnson, Lysa Collins, Jonathan Collins, Chloe Weddle and Seth Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Matthew Collins, Henry Johnson; sister, Page Weddle, Danville, KY; cousin, Ann Brandt; nieces and nephews are the Families of Derek Anderson, Ashby Jakober, BW Brooks, Melinda Evans, Beth Davis and Allen VanNatter. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday, August 12, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 5409 Jacksboro Pike. The family will receive friends following the funeral service until 6 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Post Office Box 5104, Knoxville, TN 37928.
