Joseph (Joe) Otto Schaad, age 82, of Rutledge, TN passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021.

Joe is descended from the first Schaads that moved to Knoxville from Switzerland in approximately 1869. He was born in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Knoxville Catholic High School. Humble, quiet, and honest, Joe exhibited the virtues we should all strive for in life. He had an interest in history, had a deep relationship with God, and was a man of the Earth having farmed for the majority of his life.

Survived by sons JO Schaad, Edward Schaad, Andrew Schaad; daughters Christina Schaad, Anna Schaad Chappelle, and Megan Schaad; grandsons Sebastian Schaad, Sullivan Schaad, Sawyer Schaad, Quinn Chappelle and Finis Chappelle; granddaughter Sylvia Schaad.

A mass is scheduled in honor of Joe at Immaculate Conception Church Knoxville on Saturday, June 19th at 11am followed by a ceremony at Calvary Catholic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
