Johnnie Padgett

Johnnie Ray Padgett, age 64 of Shelby, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

He was a mechanic by trade, but his greatest achievement was his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed strawberry milkshakes, spending time with his grandson, traveling, cars, fishing, watching westerns, playing the scratch-off lottery, NASCAR and drag racing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Alfred Padgett and Ernestine Walker Padgett.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri Lynn Padgett; son, Johnnie Ray Padgett Jr; daughter, Julie Lynn Padgett; grandson, Taylor James Monroy; brother, Donnie (Terri) Walker, Debra (Lamar) Harrison, Kathleen (Jerry) Waters, Susie (Ralph) Mason, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to The Tennessee Cancer Specialist, especially Dr. Doddabele for his kindness, compassion and genuine care.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 1:00pm at Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel and Crematory (5301 Fountain Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918).

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tennessee Cancer Specialist.
