Jimmy “Poppy” Donald Hobbs, age 69 of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, September 28, 2023. He proudly served his country and was a United States Army Veteran. Poppy was a lot of fun and would do anything for his family. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by father, Robert Hobbs; mother, Betty Hobbs; brother, Stacey Hobbs; nephew, Scott Kimbrell; lastly, his best puppy friend, AJ.

Poppy leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife of 21 years, Debra Hobbs; son, Matthew Moyers (Shannon); daughter, Jennifer Johnson (Robby); siblings, Mary Kimbrell, Jeannie Buis, Buddy Hobbs, & Susan Stegall; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kingsport Rehabilitation Hospital and University of Tennessee Medical Center for all of their wonderful care and support.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
