Ila Grace Turner

Ila Grace (Lewis) Turner, age 72, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith. Ila was born August 2, 1948 in Maryville, Tennessee and was the youngest of 3 siblings. She graduated from Young High School in May of 1965. Ila retired from Walgreens in 2014 where she had worked as the lead of the photo department.

Ila is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Leta Lewis; brother, Joseph Lewis and sister-in-law, Linda Lewis. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Wayne Turner; her only child, Melissa Carter (Robert); grandsons, Brendan Carter (Chelsey) and William Carter; great grandchildren, Greyson Kenyon, Griffen Carter, Graham Carter, and Isabella Carter and sister, Paris Cogdill.

Family and friends will gather at 2:45pm Wednesday, April 7, 2021 for a 3:00pm graveside service at Piney Grove Cemetery(2109 Piney Grove Church Road, Knoxville, TN 37909). Rev. Larry Day with Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church will be officiating.
