Happy “Hap” Minhinnett, age 78 of Knoxville, TN passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Hap served his community as a professional photographer, capturing years of memories and special moments for families in and around Knoxville.
He proudly served in the Army during Vietnam and received the Bronze Star. He was President of the Fountain City Ballpark and was named “Coach of the Year 1982” for District IV Baseball. Hap’s interests included: sports, baseball, running his business, and volunteering at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
Hap was a loving husband and father. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Paula. Although he was an avid baseball fan, his greatest joy was watching and coaching his three sons as they grew up.
Happy will be remembered most as a husband, a father, and a brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Curtis and Ruth Davis Minhinnett.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Paula Minhinnett; sons, Jonas (Charlene), Will (Melissa), Curtis (Robin) Minhinnett; grandchildren, Caden, Carly, Jack, and Finn; brother, Axson (Cheryl); brother-in-law, Chuck (Sally). Hap was a loving husband and a supportive father. He was always willing to help when called upon.
The family will receive friends at Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation is Hap’s memory to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
