George "Dobber" Ross

George “Dobber” Ross, age 88 of Knoxville, passed away December 25, 2021. He worked at Rohm Haas for 40 years and attended Sevier Heights Baptist Church. His pride and joy, was spending time with his grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his son, Alan; parents, Isaac and Winnie Ross; brothers, Charles and James; sisters, Joan, Gladys, and Velma.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty; daughter, Cheryl; son, Darryl (Jeanna); grandchildren, Courtney, Nathan, Hunter, Zach, and Allyson; great grandchildren, Kenzie, Cole, Kennedy, and Lucas; great-great grandchild, Alayah; sisters, Eleanor Magourik and Essie Kilegore; brother-in-law’s, Bud and Dowell Bales; sister-in-law’s, Helen Lindsey and Johnnie Cross.

The family will receive friends at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 5pm-7pm with a memorial service to follow at 7pm. Pastor Charlie McNutt will officiate.
