Frances Alma Simpson Preston

Frances Alma Simpson Preston died in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 19, 2023, with her loving daughter by her side. Frances was born in Knoxville on May 28, 1934, to Jake Bauman Simpson and Gertrude Taylor Simpson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack Simpson, Fred Simpson, Hugh Simpson, Jake Simpson, Richard Simpson, Kenneth Simpson, Cecil Simpson, sisters Bessie Simpson, Ruth Simpson, Wilma Simpson, Evelyn Simpson, and her former husband, Joe Earl Preston. She is survived by her daughter Karen Renee Preston Pack (Dennis) and several nephews and nieces. Frances was strong in her faith and lived out the words of Christ, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” She was a loving and devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a special aunt to her nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel, 5301 Fountain Road, in Knoxville, TN, on May 23, 2023, at 6:00 PM.
