Faye Eddleman Mitchell, age 89, formerly of Lexington, KY, passed away on February 2, 2023, peacefully at home in Knoxville, TN. She was the daughter of the late James C. Eddleman and Ella Richardson Eddleman, born on August 31, 1933 in Fayette County, KY.
Faye was a graduate of Paintsville High School in 1950 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Transylvania University in 1954, where she was an active Tri-Delta member. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Faye was a former Hopkins County, KY elementary teacher. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and was an avid University of Kentucky sports fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Eddleman of Louisville, KY.
She is survived by her loving family; son, Steven Mitchell and his wife Doris, of Knoxville, TN; son, Gregory Mitchell, of Lexington, KY; granddaughter, Kerri Mitchell Calloway and her husband, Bo, of Knoxville, TN; and grandsons, Dr. Andrew Mitchell of Lexington, KY; Austin Mitchell and his wife Maressa of New Port Richey, FL; Tanner Mitchell of Sarasota, FL and one sister-in-law, Caroline Eddleman, of Louisville, KY.
She is also survived by her treasured great-grandchildren; Crew, Quinn, Kinsley, and Ellie, as well as friends and neighbors.
