Cynthia (Cindy) McBride, 63, died suddenly Monday, January 16 at U.T. Medical Center surrounded by her loving daughters. Cindy was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to John and Carolyn Douglas. She grew up in Knoxville, spending summers in Whitehall, Michigan.
Cindy graduated from Bearden High School, received a degree in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University, and an Associate of Science in Nursing from Tennessee State University. Cindy’s calling was caring for the elderly, and she was a selfless and compassionate nurse at Northaven and Beverly Park Place for many years.
Cindy enjoyed spending summers in Michigan camping and had a love for all types of music, but her greatest joy was spending time with her daughters and granddaughters. She was an amazing and loving mom, nana, and sister. She will be greatly missed.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carolyn Douglas.
She is survived by her daughters, Emily Satterfield (Jared), Hailey McBride (Travis), and Carly McBride (James); granddaughters, Maggie, Madison, and Morgan; stepchildren, Kendall Kramer, Raymond McBride and Jessica Decker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Stephanie and Bill Fletcher, Victoria and Jim Beavers; along with several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service to immediately follow at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel, 5301 Fountain Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37918.
