Clarence Michael (Mike) Posey, 53, formerly of Clinton, always from Knoxville, TN., left this world Saturday, July 10th @ 4:45 p.m. after a long, brave battle with cancer. Michael was a life-long car enthusiast, from building model cars as a boy to learning the vocation at Fulton High School and continuing on to be a fantastic mechanic that was counted on by many.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, James David Posey, Sr.; grandparents: Clarence and Ruby Posey and E.G. and Betty Sharp; nephew Davey; cousin/brother Jackie; Uncles: Jack, Johnny and Danny Posey; Aunts: Betty Sue, Janie, Brenda and Wanda; Brother-in-laws James Kear and Bruce Freeman, many cousins and friends.
He leaves to mourn: sons Bryson James and Michael Nicholas, the very essence of his life. Mother Judith Sharp-Posey, siblings Etta Kear, James (Bubba) Posey and Buffy Freeman. Aunts: Ocie Talbott, Diane Burkhart and Glenda DePew. Uncles: Hank, Johnny, Dennis and Steve Sharp. Nieces and nephews: Danielle, Dylan, Emily, Benny and Haylee. We thank the cousins that were able to help us during this very difficult time: Johnny Rhodes, Ronnie Rhodes, Lesley Ferguson, and Beth Sharp. Special friend, Cheryl Truax, that was able to comfort him in his final days.
A receiving of friends and memorial service will be Saturday, July, 17, 2021 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Pastor Danny Scates officiating at Glen Oaks Missionary Baptist in Knoxville, TN.
