Christine (Hickman) Lett

Mary “Christine” Hickman Lett (known to all as Christine), age 95, passed away on December 30, 2021. She was a loving, giving, gentle Christian woman who blessed all who knew her in some way. She was a member of Inskip Baptist Church. Her greatest joys were spending time with family and friends, worshiping in her church, helping others, and traveling around the United States in her later years. Even in the midst of troubles, she always had a positive outlook and a twinkle in her eye. Her humble, servant, happy heart was a witness to her character and abiding faith in God. Born on December 6, 1926, and raised in Morgan County, TN, Christine was the youngest of 10 children born to Dennis W.C. Hickman and Mary Howard Hickman. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lawrence O. Lett; her parents; all of her brothers and sisters; one step-daughter; and one step-granddaughter. She is survived by two step-grandsons; 5 step great-grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces. They are all confident that she is making plans right now for a big family reunion in heaven. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm1:00pm on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel (5301 Fountain Road, Knoxville, TN 37918) with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00pm; Interment will be held 3:00pm that same day at Lynnhurst Cemetery (2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918).
