Carleton R. Murray

Carleton R. (Randy) Murray, age 79 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. He was born on January 9, 1943 in Christiansburg, VA to the late William and Lellie Murray. He enjoyed working in retail at the Sears outlet store and helping his brother-in-law with a snack and coffee business. Randy was a blessing to his family. His sense of humor and “Randy-isms” kept them smiling. He loved sports of all kinds. His favorite teams were the Carolina Tarheels, Cincinnati Reds and Tennessee Vols.

Randy is survived by siblings, Melissa (Norm) Jones and Robert E. (Karon) Murray; niece, Heather (Ryan) McCrillis (son Jared); nephews, Ross (Stephanie) Jones (children Wesley, Sam, and Lake), Aaron (Beth) Jones (children Nate, Anna, Avery), Will Murray, and Lee Murray.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Care Around the Block Agency for their loving care of Randy at home. They would also like to thank the staff at Beverly Park Place for his care of him in his final days.

A private family memorial will be held for Randy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Randy’s memory to the Missions Fund at Trinity Community Church (6702 Central Avenue Pike, Knoxville, TN 37912).
