Betty (Baker) Addonizio Obituary

Betty (Baker) Addonizio passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the age of 89 years old.

She grew up in Knoxville, TN. She graduated from Knoxville Business College and later worked at the Old Miller’s Department Store as the Secretary of Merchandise Manager, and Tommy Graham Studios as office manager and photographer for 12 years. She was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital for 21 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Betty was also a Regional State Chair of the Council of Volunteers for the Tennessee Hospital Association. She was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church where she was very active in service and discipleship. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and fantastic grandmother to her only grandson, Logan, whom she deeply loved. She enjoyed working in her garden, decorating the house for every season and holiday, helping other people, spending time with family and friends. She led a truly blessed life. She was the life of the party! She generated energy in any room she entered.

The family would like to thank Caris Hospice for their care and compassion, especially Nurse Jennifer during this difficult time.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, John Elmer and Mary Elizabeth Baker; and her five sisters and brothers.

Betty is survived by her husband, Bill Addonizio; son, Steve Addonizio (Kim); daughter, Debra Addonizio Markelonis (Jimmy); and grandson, Logan Franklin (Thera).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm with a service to follow at Fountain City United Methodist Church (212 Hotel Rd, Knoxville, TN 37918).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or Fountain City United Methodist Church.
