Teresa (Terrie) Wain (Sign Guestbook)

Teresa (Terrie) Wain, age 62, quietly departed this life on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at her lake home in Sharps Chapel, Tn. She was born December 23, 1956 in Tuscola, IL. to Harold and Eileen (Tucker) Peterson. She was a 1975 graduate of Santiago High School, Garden Grove,CA. She married Dave Wain on August 6, 1993 in Nashville, Tn. She worked as a transporter of school children for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools for 16 years. She was a veteran of the Global War on Terrorism and proudly served in the United States Navy as a DC3 aboard the USS Monongahela (AO – 178) and then as a Technical Sargent in the Tennessee Air National Guard with the 118th Airlift Wing. She was awarded the Air Force commendation medal; Air Force achievement medal; Coast Guard special operations service ribbon; Air Force training ribbon; Air Force longevity award; National defense Medal; Air Force outstanding unit award; and the Armed forces reserve metal with one device.

Terrie truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: Traveling, enjoying time on the water, boating (where she always felt calm and at peace), and spending time with and chatting with her friends and family. She had a gift of giving. Her generous spirit will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Harold and Eileen Peterson and by her eldest sister, Ladonna Embser. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her husband; Dave: Her daughter; Amber: Her sons; Michael and Rusty: Her grandchildren; Bradley, Cole, and Natalie: Her siblings; Danny, Carol, Linda, and David: Her Aunt May and the many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Terrie touched are invited to join the family at Gentry Griffey Funeral Home, 5301 Fountain Rd., Knoxville, Tn from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in a celebration of life to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, just gab.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Stand up to Cancer and/or Lisa’s Army. In true Terrie fashion, she loved to have choices. All that she ever requested was to donate to a charity that gave back all the proceeds that were given. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Wain family and invites you to view and sign the online registry below.

The family of Terrie wishes to extend our sincere thanks during the illness and passing of our loved one by the many acts of kindness extended to our family. Your prayers and all expressions of love and sympathy are greatly appreciated. May blessings of peace and love continue with you forever.
