Roddey (Tony) and Connie Martin (Sign Guestbook)

Roddey (Tony) Martin, age 75, and wife, Connie Winters Martin, age 72, of Clarksville, TN died June 9, 2018 in a tragic car accident on East Emory Road in Knoxville, TN while visiting family.  Tony and Connie were born in Anderson, SC, and had been married for 57 years. They currently lived in Clarksville and were planning to move to Knoxville to be near their family. Tony was employed by Orgain’s Truss Plant, and Connie was retired from TSA.

They are survived by their 3 daughters, Nannette (Gary) Cox of Knoxville, Rita Hughes of Piedmont, MO, and Amber (Toby) Goode of Knoxville; 5 grandsons, Garrett (Sandra) Cox, and Ethan Cox of Knoxville, Brandon Hughes of Cape Girardeau, MO, Bradley (Whitney) Hughes, and Zachary Hughes of Tucson, AZ; 5 great grandchildren, Aiden and Jaxon Hughes, Adria Cox, Kyle and Alyssa Burton.  Tony is survived by 2 sisters, Pat Walls of Anderson, SC and Mary Lou Saleeby of Columbia, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Connie is survived by 2 sisters, Peggy Clements of Gainesville, GA and Marie Garland of Anderson, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

Tony and Connie had a strong faith in their God, Jehovah, and instilled those Christian values in their children and grandchildren. They loved their family dearly and will be greatly missed by their children, grandchildren, and all who knew them.

A memorial service will be held in Knoxville, TN on Sunday, June 17th at 4:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (3958 East Emory Road, 37938). Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Martin family and invites you to sign the online registry below.
