Mark David Overton (Sign Guestbook)

Mark David Overton “Big O”, age 69, peacefully went to be with the Lord while at home with family on November 16th. Mark was a proud father and avid deer hunter and fisherman who always took his two sons along with him when he went afield. He never missed a football or baseball game when his sons or grandchildren were playing. Being a dad and papaw were the most important jobs to him. Mark was a supporting father, a loving papaw, a kind friend, a man who could be counted on to lend a hand. He never complained, was always there when you needed him, and lived his life to the fullest for as long as he was able. He had many friends who he was there to listen to and give advice or words of encouragement. His smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Mark is preceded in death by his parents Sam/Theda Overton, brother Earl, sister Rebecca, and granddaughter Kylie Overton. He is survived by his sons John and wife Brooke, Sam and wife Kristin, grandchildren Karmen, Allison, Macie and Axel, and brother Benny Overton. A Celebration of Life will be held at Dante Baptist Church on November 26th from 6:00 to 7:30 followed by a service. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Overton family and invites you to view and sign the online registry below.
