Marion M. Benton (Sign Guestbook)

Marion, 89, passed away peacefully after a difficult week on July 19, 2019, at her home in Fountain City which is in Knoxville, Tennessee after dealing with 4-1/2 years of up and downs health wise due to mini-stokes that left her with Dementia and also just the years taking their toll on her body. Even with all that, she had many enjoyable times with her family and will be missed incredibly.

Marion was born September 15, 1929, and was born in Brooklyn, New York, and lived on Long Island and then later moved to the Catskill Mountains where she meet her future husband of 48 years.

She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Chester W Benton and her only Brother, Robert Eggers of the Hudson Valley area of New York also, her Parents, Charles Robert Eggers and Mother, Elizabeth Gabber Eggers of New York.

She is survived by her two Sons, Bradford and Jeffrey and Daughter-in-law Brenda, all of Knoxville, who will miss their Mom immensely. Both Sons and Daughter-in-law cared for Marion to the last.

Marion was a graduate of Liberty High School in Liberty, New York. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother and Homemaker.

Marion was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and was a true Bible Student, always reading and studying the scriptures when she was healthier. She shared in the Ministry Work in which she tried to help others see what the Bible had to offer for all people, that is a better future.

Other Family and many Friends that are too many to mention will miss her dearly. Some family, being our Aunts and Cousins in New York and Florida. Plus, the many, many friends that were just like family that she had made here in Tennessee over the past 42 years.

There will be a Memorial Service for Marion this Friday Evening at 7:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 3958 E. Emory Road which is in Halls. It is at the corner of Norris Freeway and Emory Road.

One guestbook entry for “Marion M. Benton”:

  1. Nan Cox says:

Our hearts are truly saddened by your loss, of dear sweet Marrianne. You all are in our prayers and thoughts as we mourn your loss along with you. Marrianne was so precious. She truly was kind and thoughtful, and truly cared about others. We have missed her smiling face already because of her illness, but so long to see it again soon along with my mom and dad. Death is a bitterness so hard to cope with, but one we can’t wait to see destroyed forever in Jehovah’s righteous new world. We just have to keep looking over the horizon for them. We love you all, and are so sorry for your pain and sadness. Love, Nan Cox & family
