Lee “Denver” Cantwell (Sign Guestbook)

Lee “Denver” Cantwell, son, big brother, husband, father and friend, passed away on December 20, 2018. Denver lived a life of sacrifice and service to everyone he knew and loved. He was always just a phone call away, never turning down a chance to lend a hand, shoulder, or an ear. These traits made his heart bigger than he was. Denver wrote his own eulogy on the hearts of each person he touched in his 43 years of life. Each time you saw Denver his arms were open wide to comfort you and his calm nature helped to guide you toward a proper choice or decision. Denver never spoke ill of any person. He had a smile that would outshine the sun and his eyes were bluer than a clear sky in summer. Denver was driven by love, motivated to rise each day and provide for his wife of 20 years, Adria Layman and his beloved amazing children, Alora, Alea, Devin and Aniya. He also leaves behind a father, Dale Cantwell; mother, Linda Henry and sister, Alaina McCord. His humble sacrifices, acts of kindness and accomplishments are too many to list but being married till death to the one woman he loved more than life itself and fathering four beautiful children was something he held closest to his heart. He can now spend time truly resting and awaiting a reunion so grand only Heaven can host the celebration. A special thanks to aunt Jody, UT CVICU extraordinary staff for the round the clock care Denver received, the many prayers spoken and each act of kindness extended to his family during this time. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 29th, from 1 to 4pm at Mt. Vale Church of God. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to another family in need during this holiday season on behalf of Denver so his legacy of sacrifice and giving will bring joy to the less fortunate. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Cantwell family and invites you to view and sign the online registry below.
