Dannie (Dan) Allen Sullivan (Sign Guestbook)

Sullivan, Dan, 77, of Knoxville, TN was carried to heaven on angel wings on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Johnson City. Early in his life, Dan joined the Army where he served in Germany. Later he worked for Adelphia Communications. In his final years, he loved to greet and serve his customers at Mountainside Mercantile. Dan loved to laugh, entertain, and visit with friends. He had a lifelong love of antiques and was driven by the hunt for the next treasure at the weekly estate sales. A recovering alcoholic for 30 years, Dan was graciously open to sharing his journey with anyone who would be encouraged by it. Dan was a devoted member of Metropolitan Community Church of Knoxville for more than 14 years. He enjoyed Southern Gospel music. He loved the Lord and knew where he was going.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie Metcalf Sullivan and Dan Allen Sullivan, and his spouse, Donna. He is survived by Eddie Clark and the countless friends and strangers he touched with his kindness. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 3:00 p.m. at MCC Knoxville, 7820 Redeemer Lane, Knoxville, TN. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, Dan requested that donations be made in his name to Boys Town, PO Box 5000, Boys Town, NE 68010.

    I know you’re in heaven Dan and most likely you’ve found the nearest antique mall. You are such a blessing. I’m sorry we didn’t keep in touch Much over the past few years. You will always be my friend. I Love you. Now do try to behave up there.

    Dan was a funny, kind man who loved his cigarettes and coffee. He made me laugh from the first moment I met him. RIP my friend.
