Sometimes Listening is the Best Thing You Can Say

If you’ve ever been in the situation where you are grieving over the loss of a loved one, you know that there’s really nothing anyone can say to make you feel better. Everyone means well, of course, but usually it’s better to listen instead of offering up words of advice. Usually, the family needs to express their feelings about their recently departed loved one, often sentiments that they always meant to express but never did. Allowing someone to talk freely while you actively listen is usually the best thing you can say.
