J.D. Farmer, loving husband and father, devoted Christian, passed away at the age of 86 at his home on December 25th, 2017.  He was surrounded by the love of his life Wanda, wife of 66 years and his 5 beloved children (Kay, John, Gail, Susie and Tracey).  J.D. was preceded in death by his parents Nova and John Farmer.

His passion for life was serving the Lord at The Church at Sterchi Hills and working side by side with his pastor and friend Joel Dew and the many dedicated men of the   church.

A special thanks to Dr. Wahid Hanna and his staff at Hanna Cancer Associates for the excellent care he received and the support of the hospice nurse Anne Knighton.

Family will receive friends Friday, December 29th from 5-7 pm followed by a family directed Memorial Service at The Church at Sterchi Hills, 904 Dry Gap Pike, Knoxville, TN, 37918.  In lieu of flowers please contribute to: The Church at Sterchi Hills Building Fund.
