Gordon H. Petherick (Sign Guestbook)

Gordon H. Petherick, 93, of Farragut, TN, danced his way into heaven on April 3, 2017. Well-liked and often loved by those who knew him, he is greatly missed by family and friends. Gordon was born on January 27, 1924, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he later met and successfully wooed the love of his life and future wife, Beryl Davy. Gordon served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in British Columbia during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto and received his MBA at the University of Michigan before enjoying a distinguished career as a systems analyst. He and Beryl, in their many adventures together, immigrated to the US from Canada in 1951. They moved to several different states before moving to Maitland, FL, where they later retired. Gordon was a member of Maitland Presbyterian Church. He loved music, especially jazz tunes and Big Band favorites, and was a marvelous dancer. He is predeceased by his wife, Beryl Davy Petherick; parents, Ernest and Elizabeth (Elsie) Petherick; and siblings William Petherick, Audrey Sinclair, and Ernie Petherick. He is survived by his sons, Glenn Petherick (and daughter-in-law Charmaine), of Alexandria, VA, Brent Petherick of Casselberry, FL, Kevin Petherick (and daughter-in-law Barbara), of Knoxville TN; grandchildren Kevin Petherick, Jr. Michael Petherick, and Holly Petherick, of Knoxville, TN, and Shaina Kern, of Casselberry, FL; many family members in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and many friends.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Choices in Senior Care for their excellent and compassionate care of Gordon during his time in Knoxville, and for their tremendous support of Gordon and his family during his final days. Gordon’s family would also like to thank Clarity Pointe of Knoxville for making Gordon’s last two years so special for him. A memorial service is planned for mid-May. Memorial contributions in Gordon’s name may be sent to Alzheimer’s Tennessee or to a music charity of your choice. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Petherick family and invites you to view and sign their online guestbook below.
