Clara L. Underwood (Sign Guestbook)

Clara Lamie Underwood, affectionately known as “Crickett,” passed on to heaven on May 8, 2017. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and has lived in Knoxville for the past 26 years. Clara was born to Ray and Tennessee Lamie in Rich Valley, VA in 1924. She is survived by daughters, Melissa Miller of Columbia, TN and Mitzi Rouse; son-in-law, Chuck Rouse, of Knoxville; grandchildren include Natalie Rouse of Franklin, TN, Preston Rouse and fiancé Katrina Quist, and Jackson Miller, of Columbia, TN. Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her husband, Julian; infant grandson, Julian Charles Rouse; and 7 siblings.

Before moving to Knoxville, Clara resided in Mt. Carmel, TN for over 50 years and was retired from Kingsport Press.

Receiving of friends will be held at 2p Friday, May 12, followed by a celebration of life service at Ebenezer United Methodist Church at 3 o’clock. Graveside services will be at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carmel on May 13 at 1p. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church or Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.”     2 Tim 4:7
